On September 9, 2024, the school year at Ankadibevava Elementary began with a meaningful distribution of school supplies to 94 elementary students, marking a continued commitment to supporting education in remote rural Madagascar. Thanks to the generosity of Stacey Sharer and the Teshima Foundation, each student received a locally made backpack stocked with grade-appropriate materials such as notebooks, pencils, pens, and crayons.
In addition to these supplies, Diffusion Global Inc. covered the annual school fees for all students, which eases the financial burden on families and ensures that education remains accessible for the children of Ankadibevava. This initiative was further extended to support five students who recently completed elementary school. Each of these students was awarded a fellowship, which covers their continuing education expenses, including school fees, school supplies, and uniforms (about $35 per student). Diffusion Global remains committed to supporting these fellows as they progress, provided they maintain good academic standing.
The back-to-school program was also an opportunity to announce progress on a new school building for the community. Following successful negotiations with local authorities and community leaders, Diffusion Global has secured approval for the new school’s location. Building materials are arriving on-site, and groundwork is set to begin shortly. The project aims to complete the main structure before the onset of Madagascar’s heavy rainy season in January.
Diffusion Global Madagascar is dedicated to creating educational opportunities and sustainable infrastructure, fostering long-term growth and development in the remote rural community. With your support and the support of dedicated partners, Diffusion Global is paving the way for a brighter future for rural communities in Madagascar.
